Subscription service's opportunity cost

Video streaming and most subscription businesses have a hard paywall, meaning, after a 30-day free trial, you cannot use the product anymore.

The opportunity cost of services (with the exception of ad-supported services, like Spotify & Hulu) is high, since they don't get to form a relationship with the consumer over time.
